Nowadays, pop stars buy Boings, but in the 60s it was common for artists to buy those fragile light aircrafts, which easily broke in thunderstorms. Three tragic accidents killed not only three great singers, but also their friends – altogether ten people.
Buddy Holly (b.7 September 1936), pilot Roger Peterson (b.24 May 1937), young singer Ritchie Valens (b.13 May 1941), and disk jockey Jiles Perry Richardson (b.24 October 1930) died on 3rd February 1959.
Patsy Cline (b.8 September 1932), her manager Randy Hughes (b.11 September 1928), country singer Cowboy Copas (b.15 July 1913), and broadcaster Hawkshaw Hawkins (b.22 December 1921) died on 5th March 1963.
Jim Reevs (b.20 August 1923) and his band member Dean Manuel (b.1934) died on 31st July 1964.
I wanted to find astrological indications for tragic death in the charts of these people. I expected to see bad aspects and evil stars involved in the combined charts of the natals and transits.
Here is the chart of Buddy Holly’s crash (from outside towards the internal level: the event, charts of Buddy Holly, Peterson, Valens, Richardson)
What immediately attracts attention is the noticeable involvement of Sagittarius (marked by green circle) and transit Mars on the most evil fixed star Algol (red circle). In Jyotish, Sagittarius is known as “sign of accidents” (although it is related to the sidereal system used there).
In the chart of Patsy Cline’s crash (order towards the internal level: event, Patsy, Hughes, Cowboy, Hawkins), we see similarly filled Sagittarius, and Mars on evil star Praesepe
His natal Moon is in Sagittarius again, and transit Sun is on the same evil star Praesepe.
It is well known in astrology that Praesepe causes injuries and accidents (having Sun on Praesepe in my own natal chart, I can confirm this by a long list of traumas, including a heavy car accident with facial surgery - this happened when Mars was transitting over Prasepe, whereas the natal Mars is in Sagittarius, indeed), and also burns, afflicted eyesight, and danger of violent death. Fixed star Algol is an eclipsing binary causing violence, and with some other constellations, beheading.
Widely publicised formal statistics of astrology claim that there is no connection whatsoever between the birth data and life events and death. One can see that this is not quite so.
Falsifying astrology by means of Sun signs statistics reminds me the joke about a blind who scrutinized an elephant touching its tail.
Listen to the beautiful voices of Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves. And here the two sing together.
